Poets at Large will begin its fourth year in 2023 with free spoken word/poetry performances again at Roseland Park in Woodstock

and at a new venue, The Rose Room Cafe in Webster, Massachusetts.  These free-to-the public readings will  be held on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. in the barn at Roseland Park, 205 Roseland Park Road in Woodstock on June 4, September 10, and October 8, with more readings held at The

Rose Room Cafe, 4 E. Main St. in Webster, Massachusetts on Feb 26, March 26, May 28, and June 25, also from 2-4 p.m.  A special Thursday evening performance at The Rose Room Cafe will be held on April 20 from 6-8 p.m.  These events are recommended for ages 14 and up.  Open mic segments happen after intermission, and refreshments will be available at both locations.

Some of the poets who will be reading in 2023  include the current Connecticut State Poet Laureate, Antoinette Brim-Bell, as well as the current Massachusetts Beat Poet Laureate Tommy Twilight. Some of the other participants will be Poet Laureate of West Haven, Connecticut, Tony Fusco,

Beat Poet Laureate for Life Paul Richmond, Pegi Deitz Shea and T’Challa Williams, among many others.

Roseland Park Caretaker Rick Harless said, “These readings have gone from local to state and now regional events. If you are curious as to what the excitement is all about, stop by this summer and enjoy the musings of the best New England has to offer. This is not your mother's poetry!”

Sponsors get their names in all advertising and flyers.
